Hi, I’m Kristi.

I’m a mom, artist, former art teacher, dog lover, and lifelong nature enthusiast. Big Stick Studio came to life one playful “AHA!” moment at a time.

AHA! #1

The name? Inspired by my yellow lab, Beyla, who used to parade around Staring Lake with gigantic sticks—even if it meant nearly taking out a few joggers along the way! Her playful spirit became my logo and the heart of Big Stick Studio. These days, our new puppy mascot, Bili, carries on that same joyful (and occasionally mischievous) energy.

I love creating puzzles that feel like little works of art—beautiful, challenging, and full of whimsy. Each one celebrates what I love most: connection, laughter, and a touch of Minnesota charm.

As a mom, I know the best moments happen when we’re doing simple things together. Puzzles make space for that—where real conversations and belly laughs naturally unfold.

Nature keeps me grounded, and I wanted Big Stick Studio to give something back. Inspired by a family trip through Zion, Bryce Canyon, and the Grand Canyon, I launched an initiative where we donate a tree for every puzzle sold in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service.

Big Stick Studio is about art, adventure, and a whole lot of heart—with a wagging tail or two cheering us on.
